Ski Jumping World Championships 2025: Trondheim

The World Cup is taking a break to make way for the Ski Jumping World Championships, where the Norwegian ski jumper Marius Lindvik is set to take part in his home event in Trondheim, Norway. On Saturday, March 1st, Marius qualified 14th in the normal hill qualification, jumping 98.0 m and scoring 124.3 points. On Sunday, March 2, he placed 1st in the 1st Round, jumping 108.0 m and scoring 137.2 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round, he placed 1st, jumping 104.5 m, scoring 128.3 points and with a total score of 265.5 points, thus becoming the world champion on normal hill, also making the Grånasen hill record. On Wednesday, March 5, Team Mixed Norway fielded Marius Lindvik, Johann André Forfang, Anna Odine Strøm and Eirin Maria Kvandal. Marius, who jumped second in the Norwegian team lineup, jumped 135.0 m in the 1st Round and 132.5 m in the Final Round. Norway finished 1st, with a total score of 1020.4 points, ahead of Slovenia and Austria. On Thursday, March 6, Norway fielded Marius Lindvik, Johann André Forfang, Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal and Robin Pedersen in the Team Competition. Marius, who jumped fourth in the Norwegian team lineup, jumped 137.5 m in the 1st Round and 138.5 m in the Final Round. Norway finished 3rd with a total score of 1065.3 points, behind Slovenia and Austria. Finally, on Saturday, March 8, in the large hill qualification Marius qualified 1st, jumping 143.0 m and scoring 154.4 points, thus making the Grånasen hill record on large hill. In the 1st Round he ranked 2nd, jumping 138.0 m and scoring 145.7 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he was disqualified, who was 2nd, together with his teammate Johann André Forfang, for the manipulation of the suits made by the Norwegian team staff, at the request of the capricious complaints of the Poles who want to eliminate the competition by spying on Norway. Marius was stripped of the silver medal, but both he and Forfang are innocent and that both were not aware that the suits had been manipulated. If they are suspended, it would be a victory for the Polish press and the Poles, who continue to throw toxic words towards Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang, but it would be a defeat for ski jumping, which will lose two very strong ski jumpers who are capable of demonstrating their talent even in difficult moments. You always have to respect ski jumpers, even Norwegian ones. Those who do not respect Marius and Forfang are not true fans of ski jumping. Respect is more important than victory.

Until next time!
