World Cup 2025/26: Planica

The final stage of the season sees the Norwegian ski jumper Marius Lindvik prepare to compete in the event in Planica, Slovenia. On Thursday, Marius qualified 15th in the qualification, jumping 200.5m and scoring 215.6 points. On Friday, he placed fourth in the 1st Round, jumping 227.0 m and scoring 217.1 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round, he placed fifth, jumping 225.5 m, scoring 215.0 points, for a total score of 432.1 points. On Saturday, Norway fielded Marius Lindvik, Johann André Forfang, Robin Pedersen, and Isak Andreas Langmo in the Team Competition. Marius, who jumped third on the Norwegian team, jumped 238.0 m in the 1st Round and 235.5 m in the Final Round. Norway finished third, behind Austria and Japan, with a total score of 1418.0 points. Finally, on Sunday, Marius placed first in the 1st Round, jumping 238.5 m and scoring 219.7 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round, he placed first, jumping 231.0 m, scoring 239.8 points, for a total score of 459.5 points, thus winning the competition, ahead of Slovenian Domen Prevc and his teammate Johann André Forfang. It was a weekend to remember for Marius Lindvik. He secured two podiums, one in the Team Competition and one in Sunday's individual competition, landed some amazing jumps thanks to his talent, and returned to winning ways three years after his last World Cup victory, coincidentally in Planica. Furthermore, in Sunday's competition, Marius, along with Germany's Andreas Wellinger and Austria's Daniel Tschofenig, managed to achieve a score of 20.0 five times (he and Wellinger achieved it in the 1st Round, while Tschofenig achieved it in the Final Round), a score any ski jumper dreams of achieving. Marius Lindvik finished 12th in the overall World Cup standings, with a total score of 602 points, second in the overall Planica 7 standings, with a total score of 1,499.0 points, and fourth in the overall Ski Flying World Cup standings, with a total score of 211 points. Now it's time for vacation and he'll return in the summer for the Summer Grand Prix.

Until next time!
