The First Victory Of Marius In World Cup
1st January 2020. A date that we fans of the Norwegian ski jumper Marius Lindvik will remember. The event took place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, where the World Cup was taking place. 2020 had just arrived and it was the first day of the year. Marius was on the trampoline ready to jump. All the cameras in the world were on him. The icy wind lightly caresses him face. Ice cold look. But when the coach kicked him off, Marius left. Jump like an eagle and land perfectly on the snow. But the best part comes now. In fact the Norway's Marius Lindvik scored his first individual ski jumping World Cup win. Incredible. There he did. He managed to win. The 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games silver medalist equalled Simon Ammann's hill record of 143.5m in the first round at Garmisch-Partenkirchen to lead Dawid Kubacki by over seven points. Ryoyu Kobayashi was fourth at the halfway stage, and that was where he finished with Karl Geiger moving ahead of Kubacki into second. Here are the words of Marius Lindvik after his victory:
"I struggled a bit yesterday to find out the hill, but today I really found out what I needed to do and I'm so happy."
Marius will surely remember this victory for his whole life. Yet he won it on the first day of the year, which is 1st January. Simply phenomenal.
Until next time!
