World Cup 2020/21: Planica
Last round of the World Cup season, to be held in Planica, Slovenia. The Norwegian ski jumper Marius Lindvik is looking for redemption to take home points in the overall standings. On Thursday, Marius qualified 34th in the qualification, jumping 202.0 m and scoring 208.7 points. On Friday, he finished 34th in 1st Round, jumping 200.0 m and scoring 171.8 points, but it wasn't enough to qualify for the Final Round. On Saturday the Team Competition was canceled due to the wind. Marius was one of the few ski jumpers who jumped before the cancellation. Marius had jumped 172.0 m. Finally, on Sunday, in the Team Competition, Team Norway, made up of Marius, Halvor Egner Granerud, Johann André Forfang and Robert Johansson, ranked 5th with a score of 779.2 points. On that occasion Marius jumped 198.5 m and with a score of 160.2 points. But he didn't start in the individual one, he was probably tired and fatigued. Marius does not go down Planica and the results are clearly seen. A rather disappointing weekend for him, but he can console himself as Team Norway has become world champion in the overall Team Competition standings. The weekend in Planica was marked by the very bad fall of Marius Lindvik's teammate, Daniel-André Tande, which took place on Friday in training due to the wind. When the ambulance arrived, Tande was unconscious and had been placed in a medically induced coma for two days, where he went out on Sunday. Tande woke up, has a broken collarbone and a punctured lung and is currently in hospital in Ljubljana. His teammates and some of his colleagues used his gesture throughout the event to honor him. Get well soon, Daniel-André Tande!
Until next time!
