World Cup 2021/22: Planica
As per tradition, the last event of the World Cup 2021/22 season takes place in Planica, Slovenia. On Thursday, the Norwegian ski jumper Marius Lindvik qualified 27th in the qualification, jumping 217.5 m and scoring 203.1 points. On Friday, in the 1st Round he finished 13th, jumping 223.0 m and with a score of 199.8 points, the same score as Slovenian Bor Pavlovcic, and enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 13th, jumping 228.5 m, with a score of 235.5 points and a total score of 435.3 points. On Saturday, in the Team Competition, Team Norway lined up Bendik Jakobsen Heggli, Johann André Forfang, Marius Lindvik and Halvor Egner Granerud. Marius, who jumped first in the Norwegian team's lineup, jumped 240.0 m in the 1st Round and 241.5 m in the Final Round. Team Norway finished 2nd, behind Slovenia and ahead of Austria, with a total score of 1,576.9 points. Finally, on Sunday, in the 1st Round Marius ranked 1st, jumping 241.5 m and with a score of 222.6 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 1st, jumping 245.5 m, with a score of 232.5 points and a total score of 455.1 points. This means Marius Lindvik won the Planica event. Thanks to the victory obtained in Planica, Marius Lindvik ranked 3rd in the standings, overtaking his teammate Halvor Egner Granerud by only 4 points, with a score of 1,231 points. Marius had an extraordinary season, with 5 victories and 10 podiums in the World Cup, gold medal in large hill at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, gold medal in the individual competition and bronze medal in the team competition at Ski Flying World Championships 2022 Vikersund. The tiger has roared like never before and Marius Lindvik will be ready to fight next season.
