European Games 2023: Zakopane
The Norwegian ski jumper Marius Lindvik is ready to take part in the European Games, which will be held in Zakopane, Poland, with the aim of taking home medals and finishing on the podium. On Thursday, in the individual competition on normal hill, in the 1st Round Marius finished 5th, jumping 100.0 m and scoring 124.4 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 5th, jumping 101.5 m, with a score of 130.3 points and a total score of 254.7 points. In Team Mixed, Norway fielded Robert Johansson, Marius Lindvik, Anna Odine Strøm and Eirin Maria Kvandal. Marius, who jumped fourth in the line up of the Norwegian team, jumped 92.5 m in the 1st Round and 94.5 m in the Final Round. Norway finished 2nd, with a total score of 876.7 points, behind Austria and ahead of Slovenia. Finally, on Saturday, in the individual large hill competition, in the 1st Round Marius finished 5th, jumping 134.5 m and scoring 133.2 points, enough to qualify for the Final Round. In the Final Round he finished 5th, jumping 133.0 m, with a score of 130.7 points and a total score of 263.9 points. The normal hill individual competition which was scheduled for Wednesday, had been postponed to Thursday morning due to strong winds. Marius Lindvik experienced the European Games very positively, obtaining rather excellent placings, bringing home the silver medal obtained in the Team Mixed. Marius was unintentionally a protagonist due to the wind in Wednesday's individual competition on normal hill, in which in the 1st Round the strong wind had arrived just as the Norwegian ski jumper was about to jump. Marius had waited twenty minutes before the organization decided to postpone the competition to Thursday morning. He was about to lose his temper, but he calmed down the next day. Despite everything, Marius Lindvik is jumping again like before, but he will still have to train to get back on the podium. But he's back to roaring like a tiger and for him that's a good thing, but he always keeps his feet on the ground.
Until next time!
